Wemade has welcomed Kroma, Korea's first Ethereum Layer-2 solution as “WONDER 4”, the newest member of 40 WONDERS (WEMIX On-chain Network of Decentralized Ecosystem Regulators). These Node Council Partners (NCPs) for the WEMIX3.0 mainnet represent the interests of the WEMIX community as a whole by governance, and are crucial to the security, growth, and development of its mega-ecosystem. Kroma's inclusion strengthens this network, bringing its expertise in Ethereum scaling solutions to enhance the overall WEMIX experience.

Developed by Lightscale, Kroma leverages zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to address Ethereum's scalability challenges, offering faster transactions and lower gas fees for users and developers. Currently operating as an Optimistic Rollup with ZK fault proofs, Kroma aims to evolve into a full-fledged, EVM-equivalent ZK Rollup solution, maximising efficiency and flexibility within the Ethereum ecosystem. 

Kroma plays a key role in WEMIX’s strategy to create a larger global network that connects the WEMIX3.0 and Ethereum ecosystems by developing WEMIX-centric DeFi protocols like “WEMIX on Kroma”. A cross-chain staking protocol specifically designed for WEMIX coin, WEMIX on Kroma enables WEMIX3.0 users to discover the Ethereum ecosystem. WEMIX holders can leverage Kroma-powered Layer-2 technology to make transfers between the WEMIX3.0 and Kroma networks, and also participate in liquid staking for WEMIX.e tokens on the Kroma network.

Since its mainnet launch in September 2023, Kroma has significantly expanded its user base and dApp ecosystem, hosting prominent dApps like iZUMI Finance, Owlto Finance, Superbridge, Tally and leading web3 community, Galxe. The 12th March launch of NIGHT CROWS Global, Wemade’s first multi-chain game that enables players to seamlessly trade assets across multiple chains including Kroma, is also expected to drive growth. Kroma’s participation in this and other projects powered by the unagi omnichain initiative for an unbound blockchain experience, is anticipated to expand the Kroma ecosystem and contribute to the creation of an interconnected Web3 future envisioned by the WEMIX Foundation.
